_ Plays:
“I was turned on to live theatre performance in 1979 with my first community theatre production—in My Fair Lady I covered the string bass parts on my bari sax! A lot of hours in orchestra pits followed that first show. I never wanted to act, and went on stage only twice when I couldn’t avoid it while earning my B.A. in Drama back in the ‘80s, but I love other aspects of dramaturgy—set design and decoration, props, lighting, and esp. writing, directing, and puppet theatre--and have worked on over 50 shows since 1979. See my Theatre Arts Page to see what I’ve been up to, theatrically speaking, over the years.”

Roommates: A Romantic Comedy in 3 Acts (4 women; 4 men)
The story follows the parallel romances of two young women rooming together in New York City. Sara Benjamin is a normally easy-going type who teaches Phys Ed at a city high school and is engaged to an attorney from a upper-crust Long Island family. Christine Dagmar is high-strung, with an inner craziness that tends to come with genius who has almost resigned herself to spinsterhood, when she unknowingly catches the eye of their equally nutty landlord. Both relationships have their ups and downs until, with a little help from Sarah’s father and an understanding neighbor, both are resolved for an old-fashioned happily-ever-after ending. An Alien in Her Bed: A Comedy in One Act(3 women; 3 men)
Maggie Washburn and her husband, Noah, spend every Friday evening with two other couples—the women go out to play bingo, while their men stay at home and play poker. At least, that’s what Maggie has always thought they were doing. Returning unexpectedly, Maggie walks in to find their husbands huddled around a blinking, whirring contraption that even to her computer-illiterate eye, appears to be wholly alien. Maggie demands the truth, but though she has always had an obsession with the tabloid accounts of U.F.O.s, she is not quite ready to learn that her best friends—and her husband—are from another planet!
